I’ve been a professional artist for over 40 years with experiences from commercial applications to fine art commissions, art shows and competitions to installations. It’s been a wonderful career meeting amazing clients and students. I’ve been fortunate enough to live and travel to many beautiful places in the USA and around the world which has influenced how I see the people differently and how I represent them and create collections.
I’m very thankful to have the ability to learn and apply new techniques and materials to create art in many formats and installations, as well as wearable art. After studying at Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, I have always been involved in clothing design and I am now enjoying the application of art onto clothing in unique ways, both custom clothing and affordable daily wear. It’s an ever shifting and morphing world and I love showing it through art.
As I have traveled through different cultures, the one thing we all love is music and art. I hope I can help you find the joy of owning art or learning how to create it through a workshop of educational videos.
My biggest inspirations have been the places I moved to. The colors of the flora and fauna are as different as the color of the people. New York was edgier and open to interpretation. Hawaii was very extreme plant and water colors with a laid back and relaxed environment. Mexico was very vibrate colors and very vibrant people. The people are what inspire me with their lives and daily experiences.
I’ve done what most artists do such as oil, acrylic and watercolor paintings. I mostly enjoy custom pastel on sanded papers. My newest and most challenging technique and medium has been digital. As a traditional artist, I rejected digital art for many years, but feel it is without question that the future of art is the internet. I apply it to video for installations and events, as it’s been challenging and I hope you enjoy the work.
Most of my biggest work has been in NYC, such as the Paramount Theater in Madison Square garden, the Apollo Theater in Harlem including many hotels. I’ve also served as a president and have been on the board of several non-profit art organizations. I enjoy teaching workshops and mentoring young artists as well as older artists who are lost in the advanced world of social media marketing. Being involved in the art community has been very rewarding to me.
